What it actually does

Perfect Player features, explained

What the app actually does, based on its real settings menus — not a marketing list. Nothing here is invented.

Playlist management

Add a playlist by pasting an M3U or XSPF URL, loading a file from the device, or entering an Xtream Codes login if your provider uses that system. You're not limited to one source — save a playlist as a file or a link and switch to another the same way you added the first.

EPG integration

A separate guide link, usually in XMLTV or JTV format, matches show titles and times to your channels by channel ID. Add it once under Settings → EPG and the on-screen “now and next” panels fill in on their own.

Favourites

Mark the channels you actually watch so they're one tap away instead of buried in a long list organised by your provider's groups.

Channel groups and categories

Channels appear in the groups your playlist defines — by country, genre or provider category — with each channel's logo shown next to its name, so a folder is recognisable before you open it.

Quick search

Jump straight to a channel by typing part of its name instead of scrolling through a large line-up, useful once a playlist runs into the thousands.

Catch-up and playback

Where a provider's playlist supports it, a catch-up or timeshift view lets you replay something you missed. Picture quality — SD, HD, Full HD or 4K — simply follows whatever the source stream sends; the app doesn't upscale or limit it.

Interface and remote control

The on-screen menus (OSD) are built set-top-box style: large text and clear focus states meant to be read from a couch. Everything works with a TV remote, and also with a mouse or keyboard on devices that have one.

Performance and device footprint

The interface stays deliberately simple, which is a large part of why Perfect Player still runs acceptably on older or lower-powered Android TV boxes that struggle with heavier apps.

Exact menu wording can vary slightly between Perfect Player versions. If a setting on your device doesn't match what's described here, send support a screenshot and we'll point you to the right field.

Ask on WhatsApp
Does Perfect Player support multiple playlists?

You can save more than one playlist (as separate files or links) and switch between them from the same Playlist setting used to add the first one. It isn't a dedicated multi-profile switcher, so expect to re-enter or re-select the source rather than toggle instantly.

Does Perfect Player support catch-up or timeshift?

Only where your provider's playlist includes it. It's a feature of the stream, not something Perfect Player adds on its own, so results vary by provider.

Can I use Perfect Player without a programme guide?

Yes. EPG is optional — channels still play with no guide link added, you simply won't see show titles and times in the on-screen panels.
